Delicious colours and textures arrived in Yarmouth Gallery this week with a consignment of Alison Dupernex's stunning scarves.

Alison, a renowned UK Knitwear Designer, strives to create 'wearable art' with her exploration of natures colours and textures in yarn.

She sources small selected quantities of custom-dyed natural fibre yarns from individual merchants in Italy, Japan and the UK.

Working in mixes of silk, cashmere, linen, cotton and other fibres, Alison is inspired by the colours and textures of the natural world - with the landscapes of Cornwall and the Hebrides a particular source of inspiration.

She is fascinated by how colours react next to each other in nature and how particular combinations can trigger an emotional response from the viewer.

Alison's knitwear has been featured in the Designer Room at Liberty of London and her patterns have appeared in Vogue Knitting. She is also the author of four books about the art of knitting.
