Our new stock of hand-painted devore velvet scarves from Diane Jones Textiles is giving us distinctly autumnal vibes.
As well as the ever popular blues and aquas, this consignment includes foliage designs in copper, rust, green, lilacs and warm greys.
Diane's inspiration is broad, from leaves and flowers to songbirds, butterflies and geometric stripes and spots, even Aboriginal art.
She hand-paints the subtle pastel shades and jewel colours which shimmer in the light as the wearer moves. Using the devore technique, areas of the velvet pile are removed, leaving flat, matt areas contrasting with the scarves shimmering motifs.
