John Cleave

Classic images of the Isle of Wight

John started out as a dark room apprentice at the Mirror newspaper before becoming a press photographer. He worked for most of the National newspapers as a freelance before going to America to work for various publications and travelled widely before becoming a staff photographer for MGN.  Since retiring to the IW he has concentrated on landscape photography.

Amanda Rachel Toms

The IW in Close Up

Amanda is best known for her work as a ceramicist but before studying for her ceramics degree at Harrow College she studied photography ar Portsmouth.  She likes to use her camera as a digital notebook getting in close to record colour and texture which she then uses to inform the glazes used in her sculptural ceramics.  she publishes a range of cards and small prints from her photographs.
