VISIT US IN YARMOUTH

We would love you to visit Yarmouth Gallery and see for yourself the beautiful art and craft work on display, and enjoy Yarmouth Town too.

Yarmouth Gallery is open all year. Check on our home page for monthly up-dates, as hours will vary during the Winter months.

Beautifully situated in the West of the Isle of Wight, Yarmouth is a harbour town, a favourite port for many visiting pleasure craft and resident sailors.  A good place to visit at any time of year, it faces across the Solent to the New Forest, and is easily reached by Wight Link ferry from the Lymington River.

Yarmouth Gallery is just a few minutes stroll away from the ferry terminal, between the harbour and the Common, in the High Street.

There are many lovely walks around the harbour and river estuary, or along the stunning coastal path which continues on right around the Island.  The nature trail to Freshwater Bay also starts here in Yarmouth.  Alternatively, one can hire a bicycle, and buses run from the harbour to all parts of the Island.

The town is well served with many excellent pubs, restaurants and coffee shops - picnic spots too.

Yarmouth has remained a small town, free of any urban spread because it is built on what is effectively a small island within an island, surrounded by sea, river and marshland.  Its ancient name was, Eremue Isle.  The estuary is home to wading birds, winter visiting geese and many other wild birds.  If you are lucky, you may see red squirrels too.

As well as a fabulous display of original artwork by artists and makers from the Island and around mainland UK, you will find we have a brilliant little card shop tucked away at the back of the gallery.
