British Craft Trade Fair, Harrogate

Inspiring as ever my annual visit to the British Craft Trade Fair in Harrogate was doubly enjoyable this year thanks to my being accompanied by Tessa Hilton, latterly Roving Editor of Woman and Home Magazine, who gave me a whole new take on choosing from the stunning variety of craft work on show. It was great to meet new artist/makers and to chat to them about their work and to learn more of their techniques and motivation. Earning a living from designing and making beautiful original objects requires huge enthusiasm and dedication and that was apparent everywhere as Tessa, with her journalist's curiosity and empathy delved into the facts and feelings behind each artist's work.

After leaving the show and still buzzing with inspiration we headed into Harrogate and another annual treat, Betty's famous Tea Shop. Yum!

As new work starts to arrive at the gallery over the weeks ahead I look forward with great excitement to unpacking and displaying new ceramics, glass and jewellery alongside work by our current contributors, from the Island and beyond. Meantime here is a reminder of just some of the work currently at Yarmouth Gallery.
